Postgraduate studies

Honestly, I don't know too much about the postgraduate studies that are relationated with my career. But when I think about it, a few ideas comes to my mind. Since I am studying journalism, I would love to specialize my career into investigation journalism or something like the study of different cultures and societies, specially the ones that are plunged into poverty. And I would really like to learn more about photojournalism.
The reasons why I would like to study investigation journalism are because it's the most interesting subject for me since I don't like the idea of being exposed on TV and I can always keep myself busy studying different cases. It really excites me to delve into various and different cases that could help the community to know the truth about them. It would be my way to contribute to the democracy.
The reason why I would like to study poor countries and societies is because these parts of the world are very left over and we -as humans- are very blind when it comes to other's people suffering. I would love to find a way to help them and to show to the rest of the human beings how to do it too. Besides, poverty is a very difficult and interesting phenom, and is our duty to remove it from the core.
And , finally, the reason why I would like to study photojournalism is to complement the other two subjects. Because, since most of the people are very visual, photojournalism would help me to to depict the reality that I want them to know and understand.
I would love to do these postgraduate studies in the Universidad de Chile, or, if I ever had the chance, in Columbia University. And if I could, I would go to Australia and study there. I would rather have in-person classes. But if, for example, Columbia University offered me to have online clases, I would definitely take it.

My -not fun- summer plans

The summer is that time of the year when we all have the ilussion that it's going to be really fun. But that it what it is. Just an ilussion. At least for me, because the summer arrives and most of the years I do the same boring things: stay in home and watch a lot of movies, or go to the mall. I go to the beach too, which is the best part of the vacations. But I spend most of the summer in my house.

When I think about the summer, I picture myself going to the beach, swimming until the sun goes down, going out with my friends and taking lots and lots of sun baths. Of course, this is the big ilussion, because I end up going to the beach for a few days -but very enjoyed-, and visiting my friends like two times in the whole summer.

That's why this year I am going to be way more realistic. So, my plans are: to relax myself, reading, watching good movies and to make some physichal excercises. In the other hand, I would really like to do some yoga or pilates. But I don't think that I am really going to do it. 

I would love to go to the beach at least for one day and swimm until my lips are blue, and tan myself.

I would love to meet with my friends and do simple stuffs, like just eat sushi or pizza and play scrabble. Yes, I am very simple and easy to satisfy.

And if I go to the beach, I need to do some surfing, because this summer I did it and it was the best feeling ever. I felt absolutely fufilled by the sea, and I want to try it again. Perhaps, in the future I could become a pro surfer. That's one of my wishes for the next years.

And my principal plan for the summer is to spend as much time as I can with my family.

Personally, I don't think that I am going to study, but I believe that I will work with my father and brother. That would be nice.

The power of Netflix

In my whole life, I never was a big fan of series. But lately -like in the past three years-, I have become addicted to them. I absolutely and completely blame on Netflix, because thanks to the wide range of series that it has, I can watch series whenever I want and as much as I want.

I don't have a favorite serie, because it depends on what I am watching in the moment. 

In this time, I am a big fan of 'Gilmore Girls' serie, bacause the main characters and all the others, are really funny. What makes it really funny for me is the fact that in any situation happens somethings really unexpected and absurd. It is almost genuine and simple humor. Besides, what I like the most about the serie is that it doesn't idealize or steriotype the characters. It makes them very humans and imperfects.

The kind of series that I like the most are the romantic-comedy ones. I like the romance, but I don't want to be filled with clichés while I am watching the serie, so the fun part makes it more entertaining.

I am very intrigued by Élite serie, because everyone is talking about it and the social medias are always posting pictures of the serie. But I am not sure if I would like to watch it. Probably I will watch the first chapter and dump it, like what happened to me with '13 reasons why'.

The other series that I have watched are: Gossip Girl, Atypical and Trinckets, among a lot of other. Right now, I am waiting for the release of the third season of Riverdale, which is on wednesday.

Netflix has a very good serie's content, but its movies are trash.

My future job

When I was a little girl, I always had a special relationship with books and the writting. I never had too clear what I wanted to do, because I wanted to study a lot of careers, between them, civil ingeneer. Yes. I was a little bit far away from what I am doing now. In high school, what started with a little idea, ended up wrapping all my mind, and now my heart. There was when to study journalism got into my head, and now I am doing it.
So, I expect to be working in the same thing that I am studying: journalism. I expect to be a great journalist.
When I think about how will it be, by that time I want to be helping the people, be a good messenger, a truly messenger who will deliver the information as true as it could be possible. I expect it to be outdoors, so I can visit and know the differents realities that are out of what our eyes can see. I want to be the messenger of those people.
About the salary, I know that most of the people says that we can't expect too much from our job, because it's not too well paid. But I have faith that when I am working, I will have a good salary that will satisfy all of my needs. Besides, I like to think that the first reason because I am studying this it's for the love to de job.
Right now I am not taking any major because I am in the first year of college. But I expect to specialize my career with invesitgative journalism. This is the area that I have always liked. I have a big interest too in photojournalism. It excites me to think that I can portray differents realities and people. I think that is the most beautiful thing. The reason why I chose those two specialities, it's because: first, I like to study and investigative journalism will have me doing it, besides I can help the community by researching important cases; two, photojournalism will be a good tool to help other people, not only when they are in a problem, but to show their culture too; and third, those two complement each other to help me to make my purpose come true.

The end of the world

Before I say anything, I want you to know that I am christian and because of my faith I don't believe in the 'end of the world', but in the coming of God. And I think that if it really happens something like that, it is going to be the destruction of the world by the hands of the human being, but not the end of it.
How we all can see, every day, month and year, the world is more damaged because of us. The global warming has caused a large amount of natural disasters like fires and hurricanes. But there are some others that are not caused by the nature like: the melting of the Antartica, the radical change of the heat, the dryness, among others. All of these things has the human being in an alert period, because if we don't work to change this, it is going to get worse.
I don't think that there is an exact date that could tell us when it is going to be 'the end of the world', but there are possible approaches according to the ONU, which is in the 2050. Personally, I don't like to think about that, not because I want to deny the fact that we all have made a really big mistake by killing the 'mother earth', but because we have killed the earth and our lifes too with it.
I think that lots of humans will have to stay here and suffer the most extremes consequences, while others will experiment by leaving the earth to erradicate themselves in another planet.
Actually, recently there was an information that said that the scientifics has found another planet like the planet earth, where all the humans could live. So this shows us that the global warming situation it is real and it's not going to improve.

My favorite super-hero

I have never read a super-hero comic, neither I know all of the super-heros that exists. But from all the super-hero movies that I have seen with my boyfriend from the Marvel and DC world, I can say that my favorite one is Wonderwoman.

I don't know too much about her, but for what it's in the movie. And I love this character because her origins are greeks, and she represents a strong and empowered woman, who was raised by other warriors women.

Even though I haven't seen all of the Spiderman's movies, my favorites ones are the ones in which Tom Holland plays as Spiderman. First, because Stan Lee liked him the most to play it, and because, for me, it's the most entertaining version of Spiderman. Tom Holland is a bomb of authenticity and entertainment, and that makes him perfect for the role. That's just my opinion, it doesn't have to be right.

The super-heros movies that I can recommend are: Wonderwoman (I already said why); Guardians of the galaxy (1 and 2), if this one can be considered as a super-hero movie; Avengers: Infinity War; and the two last Spiderman's movies.

 

Must of my holidays are quite the same: going to the beach, staying in home, going out with my boyfriend or my friends, lovely meals with my family; but this year I tried something new.
Just the day after I enrolled in college, in January 16 to be specific, I went for two weeks to the south of Chile, 'Caburgua Lake' and its surrounding areas.
My best friend, Carla, invited me to her vacation house, which is located in a very isolated green field, near to the peak of the hill.
It was the first time that I travelled alone, and the first time that I travelled by plane too. It was a very exciting experience.
To see the sky from high above it was a wonderfull feeling. Besides, it was a little bit weird to be in the plane without someone of my family or a friend. However, it was great anyways.
When I got to Temuco's airport, I had to take another bus to get to Pucon and meet with my best friend. The view of the natural landscape it was amazingly beautiful too.
Once in Caburgua, we went to 'Los ojos del Caburgua', which was very near to her house, to Pucon's Center, to the lakes and I tanned my skin a lot. It was a fun holiday. But what makes it special is the fact that it was my first time travelling alone and by a plane. I will keep that memory with me forever.
